Bhubaneswar, Aug 23: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Friday unveiled the Integrated Global Financial Technology Capability Hub (I-GFTCH) and Bharatnetra in Bhubaneswar, marking a major milestone in the state’s mission to become a global hub for FinTech and digital innovation.
At the launch, CM Majhi underscored the state’s development strategy, which blends skilling, research, and innovation to propel Odisha into a new era of growth. “Our approach to skilling is holistic and future-focused. But skilling alone is not enough, we must also heavily invest in research and development. That’s why Odisha has taken concrete steps such as establishing the Deep Neural Network Laboratory and other Centres of Excellence. Our goal is to make Odisha the ‘Research Capital of the East,’” Majhi said.
The Chief Minister further emphasized that these initiatives are in line with the national vision of empowering youth through innovation and skilling, as envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. “Odisha is ready to contribute to the grand vision of transforming India from Swatantra Bharat to Samriddha Bharat,” Majhi added.
The I-GFTCH project is the result of a historic partnership between the Government of Odisha and the Global Finance and Technology Network (GFTN) based in Singapore. Majhi highlighted the collaborative nature of the initiative, saying, “This partnership reflects our commitment to bringing the world’s best technology to Odisha while showcasing our state’s potential on the global stage.”
These efforts are aligned with Odisha’s Vision 2036, which aims to transform the state into a $500 billion economy by 2036 and rank among the top five states in India in terms of per capita income. “As we work towards the Viksit Bharat 2047 mission, Odisha will play a central role in positioning India as a global economic leader,” the Chief Minister concluded.
