Bhubaneswar, July 15: In a significant step towards integrating technology with temple administration, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Wednesday inaugurated the‘Digital Hundi – Samarpan’platform, enabling devotees across the world to make secure and hassle-free online donations to the Shree Jagannath Temple in Puri.
The digital initiative has been introduced to provide devotees with a transparent, convenient, and reliable mode of offering donations without the need to be physically present at the temple. Through the platform, devotees from India and abroad can contribute directly to the temple using digital payment methods, ensuring that their offerings reach the temple administration safely and efficiently.
The Chief Minister said that the initiative would strengthen the connection between Lord Jagannath's devotees worldwide and the revered shrine.
Funds received through the‘Digital Hundi – Samarpan’platform will be utilised for the maintenance and conservation of the temple, infrastructure development, enhancement of facilities for pilgrims, and other welfare activities undertaken by the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA).
The platform is also expected to improve transparency and accountability in the management of donations by providing a secure digital channel for contributions. It will make it easier for millions of devotees, particularly those residing outside Odisha and overseas, to participate in temple services and support its religious and charitable activities from anywhere in the world.
