Bhubaneswar, June 3: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi today launched ₹205 crore projects in Deogarh, including a 300-bed hospital.
These projects aim to boost critical sectors such as healthcare, education, and infrastructure.
One of the most notable milestones of the visit was the inauguration of a newly constructed 300-bed hospital, which is expected to significantly enhance healthcare services in the region. Out of the 15 projects, 11 are dedicated to improving healthcare facilities, while 4 focus on strengthening the educational infrastructure.
The Chief Minister also declared a financial assistance package worth ₹41.17 crore for the kendu leaf pluckers and seasonal forest workers (bandhalis). This initiative will benefit nearly 9 lakh workers across the state.
During his speech, CM Majhi emphasized the government’s commitment to the holistic development of all 30 districts of Odisha.
He remarked, “Debagarh has immense potential for growth, and we are committed to unlocking that potential by integrating the district into the mainstream development process.”
He further stated that the state government is prioritizing the development of essential services for people at the grassroots level, especially those who have traditionally been on the fringes of society.
“Our mission is to ensure equitable access to education, healthcare, clean drinking water, electricity, and road connectivity for every citizen,” he added.
The Chief Minister reiterated the government’s long-term vision, saying that only by focusing on education, healthcare, basic infrastructure, agriculture, industry, investment, and employment can the dream of a “Samruddha Odisha” (Prosperous Odisha) be realized by 2036.
He also reaffirmed Odisha’s contribution to the national goal of a “Vikshit Bharat” (Developed India) by 2047.
