Bhubaneswar, Aug 9: On the auspicious occasion of ‘Raksha Bandhan’ that celebrates the unbreakable bond and timeless love shared between brothers and sisters, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi and Deputy Chief Ministers KV Singh Deo and Pravati Parida on Saturday extended warm greetings to the people.
Taking to his official ‘X’ handle, CM Majhi extended warm wishes and wrote, "Heartfelt greetings and best wishes to everyone on the auspicious occasion of Raksha Bandhan and Rakhi Purnima."
Similarly, Deputy Chief Minister KV Singh Deo also conveyed warm wishes to all and expressed hope that the sacred bond between brothers and sisters grows deeper with each passing year, strengthened by love, trust, and tradition.
Taking to his official ‘X’ handle, Singh Deo wrote, “Warm wishes to all on the auspicious occasion of Raksha Bandhan. May the sacred bond between brothers and sisters grow deeper with each passing year, strengthened by love, trust, and tradition. With the blessings of Mahaprabhu Shri Jagannath, let this festival carry the message of peace, harmony, and shared responsibility.”
He also urged the state’s people to use swadeshi rakhi and gifts, saying, “Let us also embrace the spirit of Vocal for Local—choosing swadeshi rakhis and gifts to empower our artisans and build a self-reliant, vibrant Bharat.”
Through a video message, Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida extended heartfelt wishes on the occasion of Rakhi Purnima. She highlighted the cultural significance of protecting and honoring sisters, and conveyed her congratulations along with wishes for happiness and prosperity to all mothers and sisters across the state.
Raksha Bandhan, celebrated throughout India, carries profound cultural and religious meaning, symbolizing the affectionate bond between siblings. Observed annually on the full moon day (Purnima) of the Hindu month of Sraban, the festival is especially cherished in Hindu tradition as a celebration of love, trust, and protection.
