Bhubaneswar, August 21: The Odisha Government on Friday approved 14 industrial investment proposals with a total investment of Rs 2,780.10 crore, with the potential to generate 14,104 employment opportunities.
The approved projects cover a diverse range of sectors, including Food Processing, Agro & Food Processing, Textiles & Apparel, Chemicals & Chemical Products, Medical Devices, Pharma, Electronics System Design and Manufacturing (ESDM), Steel, Iron & Ferro Alloys, Steel Downstream Manufacturing and Infrastructure.
The projects, approved in the 149th State Level Single Window Clearance Authority (SLSWCA) meeting led by Chief Secretary Anu Garg, will come up across districts including Angul, Balangir, Kataka, Dhenkanal, Ganjam, Kenduhar, Khordha, Nayagarh, Nuapada and Sundargada, expanding industrial activity across different parts of the State.
In the Food Processing sector, Haldiram Snacks Food Private Limited will establish a snacks and baked products manufacturing unit with an investment of Rs 500 crore, generating 800 employment opportunities in Khordha/Cuttack.
The Agro & Food Processing sector will also receive fresh investments.
Tiwana Nutrition Global Private Limited will establish a cattle feed manufacturing unit with an investment of Rs 140 crore and generating 2,500 employment opportunities. Premium Chick Feeds Private Limited will establish a chick feed manufacturing unit across Khordha, Kataka and Nayagada, with an investment of Rs 105.38 crore and employment potential of 1,054.
The Textiles & Apparel sector has received significant investment approvals, with projects expected to generate substantial employment.
The Sahana Clothing Company Private Limited will establish a readymade garment manufacturing unit for knitted baby and kids wear in Dhenkanal. The project involves an investment of Rs 251.45 crore and is expected to generate 5,104 employment opportunities.
The Pratima Agro Spinning Mill Private Limited will establish a textile processing unit of cotton yarn, comber noil, lickerin waste, flap strip and hard waste in Balangir. The project involves an investment of Rs 125 crore and is expected to create 400 jobs.
The Chemicals & Chemical Products sector has received three investment proposals.
The Prasol Chemicals Limited will establish a phosphorous-based derivatives manufacturing plant in Ganjam with an investment of Rs 450 crore, generating 458 employment opportunities.
The New Generation Manufacturing Private Limited will establish a coal tar distillation and byproducts manufacturing plant in Sundargada with an investment of Rs 80 crore, creating 301 jobs. The Haasvan Rasayan Private Limited will setup a manufacturing facility for bulk drug intermediates in Nuapada, involving an investment of Rs 55 crore and generating 70 employment opportunities.
The latest approvals also include investments in medical devices and electronics manufacturing. The Sastasundar Health buddy Limited will establish a medical device manufacturing unit in Khordha. The project involves an investment of Rs 56 crore and is expected to generate 1,050 employment opportunities.
In the ESDM sector, Syrma SGS Technology Limited will establish a manufacturing facility for printed circuit board assemblies and box build in Khordha with an investment of Rs 300 crore, generating 500 employment opportunities.
The Mineral and metal-based industries continue to attract investment The approvals also include projects in steel, iron and ferro alloys and steel downstream manufacturing, with a focus on processing and value addition.
The Mahatripurasundari Minerals & Metals Private Limited will establish an integrated complex for ferro alloys, chrome derivatives, metals recovery and chrome ore beneficiation in Kendujhar. The project involves an investment of Rs 160 crore and has the potential to generate 1,460 employment opportunities. In the Steel Downstream sector, Shree Jagannath Ispat Private Limited will establish a manufacturing facility in Cuttack for colour-coated sheets, corrugated GI sheets, plain GI sheets and GI structural components, with an investment of Rs 90.94 crore and employment potential of 230.
The NKS Earthbuild Limited will establish a facility for manufacturing of structural steel in Dhenkanal with an investment of Rs 60.98 crore, generating 148 employment opportunities.
In the infrastructure sector, Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) will develop a private railway siding for Subhadra Coal Mines at Angul district, connecting with the existing Angul-Balaram Siding and the proposed Gopalprasad Station under the Khurda Road Division of East Coast Railway. The project involves an investment of Rs 405.35 crore and has an employment potential of 29.
With a combined investment of Rs 2,780.10 crore and potential employment generation of 14,104, the latest SLSWCA approvals reflect continued investment activity across manufacturing, food processing, textiles, chemicals, electronics, medical devices, Pharma, mineral-based industries and infrastructure.
