Bhubaneswar, December 19: Odisha Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja reviewed preparations for the much-anticipated ‘Pravasi Bharatiya Divas’ and ‘Utkarsha Odisha’ events in a high-level meeting on Thursday.

The state government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, is set to host the ‘Pravasi Bharatiya Divas’ from January 8 to 10 in Bhubaneswar. Meanwhile, the ‘Utkarsha Odisha’ program, which is also scheduled for January 28-29, will focus on showcasing Odisha’s industrial potential, with leading industrialists expected to participate.

The upcoming events are part of the BJP government’s efforts to position Odisha as a hub of industrial growth and effective governance.

During the regular weekly meeting, attended by departmental secretaries, Chief Secretary Ahuja assessed the progress of key initiatives and directed officials to ensure seamless execution of state programs under the Odisha Public Service Rights Act, aiming to enhance service delivery for citizens.

He emphasized the need for full participation of officers and employees in the i-GOT (Integrated Government Online Training) platform, which provides online training to enhance skills and improve governance. As of December 15, over 2 lakh employees have been registered on the platform, with the numbers steadily increasing.

The review also covered progress on the ‘Water Life Forest Mission’ and the preparation of vision documents for ‘Developed Odisha-2036’ and ‘Developed India-2047.’ The Chief Secretary urged officials to finalize these drafts swiftly and begin preparations for the 2025-26 budget.
