Bhubaneswar, August 16: The Inspector-in-Charge (IIC) of Chhatrapur police station in Ganjam district, Debashish Mohanty, has been suspended over charges of gross misconduct and indiscipline.
According to a notification issued by the State Police Headquarters, Mohanty’s suspension came into effect immediately. During this period, he will remain under the disciplinary authority of the Inspector General of Police, Southern Range, Berhampur.
As per provisions of the Odisha Service Code, Mohanty will receive subsistence and dearness allowance during his suspension. Meanwhile, the IIC of Chamakhandi police station has been assigned the additional charge of Chhatrapur PS.
The order was passed under Rule 840 of the Police Manual Rules, 1940, citing public interest.
