Bhubaneswar, Mar 23: Odisha today is celebrating the 100th year of Mahatma Gandhi’s visit to the state. Leaders across the party lines are paying homage to the Gandhiji.
Gandhi had stepped foot at Cuttack Railway Station for the first time on March 23, 1921 and had addressed a historic gathering on the river bed of Kathajodi in Cuttack
In remembrance of the event, a procession was held at the Cuttack Railway Station in the morning.
Among others, Odisha Assembly Speaker Surjya Narayan Patro, Cuttack MP Bhartruhari Mahtab, former Cuttack-Choudwar MLA Pravat Ranjan Biswal, Barabati-Cuttack MLA Mohammad Moquim, Odisha Congress President Niranjan Patnaik were present.
