Odisha Cabinet nod for construction of PG Institute of Medical Science & Research at Capital Hospital

Bhubaneswar, Nov 23: The State Cabinet has given its nod for construction of Post Graduate Institute of Medical Science & Research, Trauma Care & Surgery complex with casualty at Capital Hospital in Bhubaneswar. The work will be done at an estimated cost of Rs 235 crore. It will facilitate health services with cheaper cost to the people of the state including Bhubaneswar. Cabinet has approved the lowest bid of Larsen & Toubro Ltd for execution of the work. The project has been targeted for completion within a period of 24 months of time. The hospital started in 1954 on 20 acres of land with only 60 beds which has significantly increased to more than 600 beds. More than 10 lakh people of Bhubaneswar, along with adjacent districts like Khordha, Nayagarh, Puri and adjoining areas depend on the hospital.
