Bhubaneswar, Aug 25: The Odisha Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, on Monday approved four proposals including the Odisha Electronics Component Manufacturing Policy-2025.
The policy is designed to attract investment and create employment opportunities in the state’s growing electronics sector.
Under the policy, investors will receive a 50% capital subsidy on the first ten large-scale projects. Alternatively, they may opt for a matching subsidy linked to turnover-based incentives, along with additional capital support.
The policy also includes a range of benefits such as land allocation, rental assistance, a 10-year exemption from electricity duty, and power tariff reimbursements. Special concessions will be extended to mega projects involving investments above ₹500 crore or creating more than 1,000 jobs.
“This initiative aligns with the national Make in India vision, aiming to foster a self-reliant electronics ecosystem while accelerating Odisha’s economic growth,” said Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja.
In another decision, the Cabinet approved the appointment of new members of the Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC). The newly appointed members include Udaya Narayan Das, Director of Census Operations; Mihir Prasad Mishra, Principal (Retd.) of S.C.S. (Autonomous) College, Puri; and Manoj Kumar Mohanty, former Additional Secretary to the Government in the General Administration and Public Grievance (GA & PG) Department.
The Cabinet also approved the proposal for convening the fourth session of the 17th Odisha Legislative Assembly, which will commence on September 18.
