Bhubaneswar, July 16:In a significant move, the Odisha Cabinet on Wednesday approved as many as 13 significant proposals on Wednesday.
The approved projects spanned across 11 departments, including the Home, School & Mass Education, H&UD, Revenue, Science & Technology, among some other departments.
According to the decisions approved by the Mohan Majhi led cabinet today, a new police district in Rairangpur in the Mayurbhanj district, will be formed for robust policing.
In addition, the Cabinet has approved the implementation of the Emergency Response Support System (ERSS), which will result in the establishment of 4,195 new positions for enhancing emergency services across the state.
Reflecting a commitment to education, the Odisha Adarsha Vidyalaya scheme is seeing a reduction in its monthly hostel fees, offering parents and students a relief of Rs 2,000.
Odisha government has approved a proposal to bear the cost of hostel fees for the students of around 455 hostels through State funding to provide equal opportunity of education to all in the State. This will benefit over 4500 students.
Further, the 'Samruddha Sahar Yojana' has been approved with a budget allocation of Rs 4,879.30 crore. This ambitious urban development initiative is part of a larger vision to create a developed Odisha by 2036.
The Cabinet also approved the Second Amendment to the Odisha Semiconductor Manufacturing and Fabless Policy. This amendment introduces a more robust package of incentives and refined provisions, especially in this capital-intensive and high-technology sector.
Moreover, in order to strengthen the Odisha Revenue Service (ORS) cadre and to enhance its efficiency, the Government has proposed to amend the provision of the recruitment process, as approved by the Cabinet.
The Cabinet has also approved the proposal for the amendment of the Odisha Factories and Boilers Inspection Service.
As per the recent amendment, the Assistant Directors of Factories & Boilers shall be required to pass the Departmental Examination for their confirmation in the service.
