Odisha Bus Owner’s Association appeals to exempt bank interest,relax on EMI

Bhubaneswar, June 2: Odisha Bus Owner’s Association has appealed the government to exempt bank interest and relax the Equated Monthly Installment (EMI) for a period of six months. General Secretary of the forum, Devendra Kumar Sahu has submitted a memorandum to the Transport Department in this connection on Tuesday. According to it, the bus owners are undergoing acute financial crisis amid the pandemic. Buses are standing due to the lockdown since months. At the same time banks, insurance sectors and the Transport Department are charging for the dues in time. However, it’s impossible on the part of the owners to bear all costs at the pandemic.Thus, they demand exemption of bank interest and relaxation on EMI premium for six months. Besides, the association urged to consider the renewal of documents those get invalid in this month up to September 30.
