Dhenkanal, May 18: Mystery shrouded over the death of a truck driver after his body was found with blood and injury marks at a sand quarry in Sadar police station area of Odisha’s Dhenkanal district on Sunday.
The deceased truck driver has been identified as Rudra Naik and the incident has been reported from Nagena in Banasingh panchayat under Dhenkanal Sadar police station limits.
According to Rudra’s wife, he left the house around 11 PM last night and didn’t answer any calls. In the morning, she got the news that their three children have lost their father. She further alleged that a JCB driver was involved in the murder.
Upon getting the information, police arrived at the spot and launched a probe into the matter. The cops seized Rudra’s body and sent it for post-mortem. A JCB machine driver has also been detained for questioning.
"The police didn’t take our complaint seriously. They are only listening to the quarry contractor. Neither the contractor nor the JCB driver has come to the spot. We think they are all involved," said his relative.
Further investigation into the matter was underway.
