Bhubaneswar, April 3: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLAs today hurled slippers at Speaker in the House,opposing the Lokyayukta Amendment Bill. Besides, Opposition Chief whip Mohan Charan Majhi threw earphones and papers at Speaker’s podium. The unruly scenes forced the Speaker to adjourn the proceedings till 4 pm.
Opposing the Lokayukta Amendment Bill, BJP Deputy Leader of House Bishnu Charan Sethi and senior leader of the party Jayanarayan Mishra hurled slippers at Speaker Dr Surjya Narayan Patro. Mohan Charan Majhi also threw earphone and papers at the Speaker’s podium, said Government Chief Whip Pramila Mallick. The irate BJP members raised hullabaloo, forcing the speaker to adjourn the proceedings.
However, Sethi refused the allegation of hurling shoe at the Speaker before media and confessed that he threw a pen opposing unethical ruling of the Speaker.
“Law will take its course. The action will be taken after examination of photo graphs,” Speaker told the media after the adjournment of the House.
