Bhubaneswar, October 11: The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) launched a sharp critique of Jay Dholakia’s decision to join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), accusing him of engaging in “horse trading.” Senior BJD leader Pratap Jena took to social media and public statements, alleging that Jay Dholakia had been “bought” by the BJP and insisted his switch would not influence the upcoming Nuapada by-election.
Jena further questioned Dholakia’s commitment to his late father, Rajendra Dholakia, suggesting that had Rajendra been alive, he would not have supported his actions. "Jay Dholakia was sold in horse trading. Even if he joins the BJP, it will not affect Nuapada Assembly by-election." Jena remarked, drawing a strong line between the two figures.
The BJD leader also took a jibe at the BJP, accusing the party of resorting to such tactics because it lacked a strong candidate in Nuapada. "The people of Nuapada are closely watching these developments and will deliver an appropriate response when the time comes," Jena added.
