Odisha assembly winter session begins: House adjourned till 5 pm condoling death of 6 leaders

Bhubaneswar, Nov 24: The winter session of the Odisha assembly began today with a somber note as the House condoled the death of two former ministers, the Deputy Leader of the Opposition, and three former members. The House will resume at 5 pm with the presentation of the supplementary budget for the current financial year. Moving the obituary reference, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik condoled the death of the former minister and sitting member of Padampur assembly constituency, Bijay Ranjan Singh Bariha, Deputy Leader of Opposition Bishnu Charan Sethi, ex-minister Golak Bihari Naik, former MLAs, Kapil Narayan Tiwari, Gopa Narayan Das and Adikanda Sethi. Leader of Opposition Jay Narayan Mishra, leader of Congress Legislature Party Narasingha Mishra, CPM MLA Laxman Munda, and Speaker Bikram Keshari Arukh also spoke about the contribution of the departed leaders. The House observed silence for the departed souls and was then adjourned till 5 pm in their respect.
