Odisha aims to expand coffee farming in Koraput

Bhubaneswar, Nov 27: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Saturday announced that coffee farming would be initiated on 5000 hectares land in the next five years in Koraput. The Chief Minister made the announcement during the programme organized for the distribution of Biju Swasthya Kalyan smart health cards to the beneficiaries.  “Koraput Coffee has hit the market as a new brand. It has brought new opportunities for the tribals in the district,” said Patnaik. The Chief Minister launched the smart health card distribution in Koraput and Nabarangpur on Saturday. Around 12 lakh people in Koraput and 11.5 lakh people in Nabarangpur would be benefited under the scheme.
