Bhubaneswar, October 21: Odia actor Buddhaditya has issued an apology following backlash from Congress over a controversial social media post regarding Rahul Gandhi.
The actor expressed regret, acknowledging that the post was a "mistake," and extended an apology to both the Congress party and Rahul Gandhi.
Buddhaditya assured that he would exercise caution in the future to avoid similar incidents.
The controversy erupted after the actor shared a Facebook post involving gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, describing him as a covert agent of India.
The post also speculated that Bishnoi's next targets could be AIMIM President Asaduddin Owaisi and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.
Following this, Congress activists, including members of the National Students' Union of India (NSUI), lodged a complaint at Bhubaneswar's Capital Police Station on October 18.
Amid the uproar, Buddhaditya deleted the post and clarified that his content was based on circulating rumors from various social media platforms, dismissing Congress's allegations.
