Bhubaneswar, Sep 29: Further solidifying its market leadership in Odisha, Reliance Jio cornered nearly 86 percent of new mobile subscribers added in the state, in the month of August 2026.
As per the latest telecom subscription data, released by Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), Jio added the highest 1.6 lakh new mobile subscribers and over 14800 new home broadband subscribers, in August 2026. Over 80% of new Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) home broadband subscribers in Odisha, in the month of August, joined Jio network, making it the most preferred digital service provider in the state.
With this, Jio further consolidated its leadership position in Odisha as the No. 1 service provider in wireless, wireline and FWA segments. As per the data, total mobile subscriber base in Odisha increased by over 1.84 lakhs in the month of August and reached 3.92 crores, as of 31st August 2026.
In the month of August, Jio added the highest 1.6 lakh new mobile subscribers in Odisha, followed by Airtel at a distant second place adding just 12960 new mobile subscribers. BSNL added 8187 new mobile subscribers and Vodafone Idea added just 3904 mobile subscribers during this month, as per the data released by TRAI, recently.
Jio further solidified its market leadership in the Fixed Wireless Access service with over 4.36 lakh JioAirFiber subscribers and a solid 82 percent subscriber market share in FWA service in the state.
In the month of August, Jio added over 14800 home broadband subscribers in the state, taking the total number of JioFiber and JioAirFiber subscribers in Odisha to over 8.21 lakhs as of 31st August 2026.
As the No. 1 digital service provider in Odisha, Jio now has the highest over 1.86 crore mobile subscribers, 3.84 lakh JioFiber subscribers and over 4.36 lakh JioAirFiber subscribers. Driving digital inclusion in thousands of small towns and villages across the rural hinterlands of Odisha, Jio has made high speed broadband connectivity available at their doorsteps.
As per TRAI data, nationally, Jio added over 24 lakh new mobile subscribers and over 5.66 lakhs new home broadband subscribers in the month of August 2026. Jio also leads the 5G Fixed Wireless Access segment with over 94 lakh subscribers and remains the sole provider of UBR fixed-wireless services in the country.
