​​​​​​​Keonjhar, Oct 9: In a gruesome incident, a 19-year-old youth allegedly hacked his uncle to death over a land dispute in Padmapur panchayat under Keonjhar Sadar police limits in Odisha.

The deceased has been identified as Chandrasekhar Das (43).

According to sources, the incident has been reported from Putulia village in Padmapur when a heated argument ensued between Chandrasekhar and his elder brother Kiran Kumar Sahoo over long standing land dispute.

It took a violent turn when Chandrasekhar’s nephew Kisan Das (19), in fit of rage, attacked him with a sharp-edged weapon. As a result, he sustained grave injuries on his head. Thereafter, a profusely bleeding Chandrasekhar was rushed to a nearby hospital. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment.

Meanwhile, Sadar police, upon getting the information, arrived at the scene and detained the accused for questioning. The cops also seized the deceased’s body and sent it for post-mortem.

Further investigation into the matter is underway.
