Bhubaneswar, August 26:  A 14-year-old boy displayed remarkable courage when he fought off a wild boar that attacked him while he was bathing in a canal at Gopalpur village under Dampada block in Cuttack district on Tuesday.

The boy, identified as Suman Behera, was bathing in the canal when the wild boar suddenly attacked him, triggering a terrifying struggle in the water.

When rescuers reached the spot after receiving an emergency call, they witnessed a dramatic scene. Suman had managed to grab the wild boar and was holding on tightly as the animal struggled to break free.

The rescue team immediately intervened and successfully separated the teenager from the animal, bringing the dangerous encounter to an end.

Suman sustained injuries in the attack and was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was provided medical treatment.

The teenager was left injured but safe after the frightening encounter, which could have resulted in far more serious consequences.
