Cuttack, April 20: As many as 13 persons returning from the Maha Kumbh Mela in Uttarakhand’s Haridwar tested positive for Covid-19 in Cuttack today. This was informed by the Cuttack Municipal Corporation (CMC).
According to the CMC, a total of 30 samples obtained from people upon their arrival at Cuttack Railway Station from Uttarakhand were screened for the presence of virus infection. Out of the samples, 13 persons found to be infected by the virus.
Worth mentioning, the Odisha government has made the RT-PCR test mandatory for people who had travelled to Haridwar for the Kumbh Mela earlier this month. It also said that all Kumbh Mela returnees will have to follow a 14-day quarantine period.
