Rayagada, July 7: Ten people from four families in Tikarpada village under Doraguda police limits in Kashipur block were hospitalised after consuming curry made with wild mushrooms.
The affected individuals have been identified as Drujya Nayak, Rengu Nayak, Kumari Nayak, Anjani Nayak, Dhanamani Nayak, Lakebati Nayak, Pradeep Jhadia, Tampa Jhadia, Dambu Jhadia, and Kabua Gouda.
According to sources, the families had prepared a mushroom curry using wild mushrooms collected from a nearby forest on Saturday evening. Later that night, all ten began showing symptoms of food poisoning, including vomiting and diarrhoea.
As their health condition worsened, they were first taken to Utkal Hospital in Oshapada. Four critically ill patients were later shifted to the District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) in Rayagada for better treatment.
Health officials have confirmed that all ten are now in stable condition.
