
Bhubaneswar, Sept 8: Acclaimed Odia music director Abhijit Majumdar is currently in critical condition at AIIMS Bhubaneswar, where he is receiving intensive medical care for multiple severe health issues. The renowned music director remains in a comatose state and is being supported by mechanical ventilation, with doctors closely monitoring his condition.
Majumdar, who has been battling several health complications, including hypertension, hypothyroidism, chronic liver disease, pneumonia, and severe lung infections, is showing signs of stability in his kidney and liver functions. However, his condition remains critical with no significant improvement or deterioration at this time.
In a latest update, sources confirm that AIIMS Bhubaneswar is in regular communication with AIIMS Delhi regarding Majumdar's treatment. If his condition worsens or requires specialized care, the hospital authorities are considering airlifting him to Delhi for advanced treatment.
Meanwhile, Odisha Health Minister Mukesh Mahaling has assured that the state government will cover all medical expenses related to Majumdar’s treatment. He also mentioned that a special medical team would be assigned to ensure the best possible care. The decision to shift Majumdar to AIIMS Delhi will be made after consulting with medical specialists and directors from both AIIMS Bhubaneswar and AIIMS Delhi.
