Sundergarh: In a ghastly incident, several migrant labourers of the State were subjected to physical and mental torture by their brick kiln owner in Vizianagaram of Andhra Pradesh after they demanded wages.
The accused brick kiln owner threw acid on a labourer and cut finger of another, who belong to Sundergarh district.
According to reports, 12 labourers hailing from Hemagiri in Sundergarh district were working at a brick kiln in Vizianagaram. The brick kiln owner used to thrash them when the latter asked for their wages.
Recently, the accused threw acid on one of the labourers and cut finger of another as they demanded their payment. The matter came to fore after five labourers, including the acid attack victim, managed to escape the place and reach Sundargarh.
At least seven labourers are still held captive by the kiln owner in Vizianagaram.
