Odia girl’s body rots in Andhra hospital: Family seeks aid

Sonepur, Aug 1: The body of an Odia girl is rotting in the mortuary of a hospital in Andhra Pradesh for the last five days as the family members could not bring the body to perform the pyre due to financial constraints. The deceased has been identified as Puja Kumbhar, a native of Dunguripali village under the Sonepur district. Family members cried for financial assistance to bring the body to Odisha. Sources said Puja was working in a marine food processing unit named Sandhya Aqua Exports located at U Kothapalli under East-Godavari district of Andhra Pradesh. Meanwhile, Puja was found hanging in the factory Barak on July 28. Police recovered the body from the spot and carried it to the hospital for autopsy. Since then, the body rots in the hospital mortuary. On the other hand, poor parents and relatives mourned over the suspicious death of the girl and appealed to the administration and Labor Commissioner to bring the body to Odisha.
