OCS Exam-2020: Aspirants urge postponement due to surge of Covid-19

Bhubaneswar, Jan 15: Odisha Civil Service(OCS) aspirants have urged the Authorities for the postponement of the OCS Main Exam which is on January 20. As many as 100 examinees who have been tested Covid-19 positive have demanded to reschedule the examination after the Covid situation gets normalized. Civil Service aspirants on Friday staged a protest at the Station Square here and urged Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik to postpone the upcoming Odisha Civil Service (OCS) Main Exam 2020. Submitting a memorandum in this connection, the candidates sought the intervention of the CMO. The memorandum read, the OCS (Main) Exam- 2020 will commence from January 20 and continue till February 6. So far, at least 100 candidates who will be appearing in the OCS main examinations have already tested Covid positive which makes it very tough for them to appear for the exam. At the same time, it will affect the exam by contaminating the healthy ones. The third wave of the Covid pandemic is nearing its peak, the next few weeks will be crucial from the health perspective. In view of it, many competitive exams have already been postponed due to rising cases. Odisha Staff Selection Commission has also postponed the Assistant Curator exam which was scheduled for January 17, 2022.
