OAV Foundation Day: CM lays foundation of teachers' training centre

Bhubaneswar, Sept 19: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday laid the foundation stone of the teahers' training centre at Samant Bihar, on the occasion of the foundation day of the Odisha Adarsh Vidyalaya (OAV). He also declared 'Bajra Scheme' for the welfare of teachers in order to meet their financial exigencies during the service. The proposed centre with a budgetary provision of Rs 25 crore will have every provision for the teachers where at least 300 teachers can be trained in an auditorium and accommodation for as many as 100 teachers with essential amenities. Apart from it, it will comprise at least 10 different workshops on the campus for technical training of the teachers. In a meeting organised on the occasion, Naveen rolled out the Bajra Scheme, a contributory welfare scheme meant for the teachers by which the teachers can avail of financial assistance from the fund after sharing their one-day salary to the Bajra Welfare Fund. Subsequently, a prize-giving ceremony was held where, as many as five OAVs and five meritorious students were felicitated by the CM. Among others, School and Mass Education Minister, Samir Ranjan Dash, Education Consultant of the CM, Upendra Tripathy, Secretary 5T, VK Pandian, Secretary School & Education Aswasthi S and OAV Project Director, Sangam Mohapatra were present on the occasion.
