Puri, Nov 25: Home Guards, OSAP jawans and other police personnel deployed at Shri Jagannath Temple, Puri are barred from carrying and using mobile phones while on duty, informed Puri SP Kanwar Vishal Singh. “The administration has decided to implement the rule after several pictures of the sanctum sanctorum went viral repeatedly. However, the police personnel on special or emergency duty are allowed to use mobile phones," said SP. Notably, earlier this month several photos of the sanctum sanctorum were uploaded on Facebook account of one Akash Choudhury, who is an ISCON devotee and YouTuber. The pictures were seemingly clicked from the Jaya-Bijay Dwara of the temple as it captured the holy Trinity on the Ratna Singhasana. Following this, Shree Jagannath Temple Administration lodged a formal complaint with the Singhadwara police in this regard. Earlier in 2017, a photo of Sanctum Sanctorum surfaced on social media and went viral.
