Birmingham, Nov 10: Nobel laureate Malala Yousafzai got married on Tuesday in a small ceremony in Birmingham.
The 24-year-old, said she and her husband, who she named only as Asser, tied knot in Birmingham and celebrated at home with their families.
Talking to twitter, Malala said, “Today marks a precious day in my life. Asser and I tied the knot to be partners for life. We celebrated a small nikkah ceremony at home in Birmingham with our families. Please send us your prayers. We are excited to walk together for the journey ahead.”
Worth mentioning, Malala, who born in Pakistan, was shot by the Taliban for campaigning for girl’s education. Later she was shifted to Birmingham, where she continued her activism for girl child education.
She received the Nobel Peace Prize in 2014, the youngest recipient of the award at the age of 17.
