Bhubaneswar: Energy Minister Sushant Singh today informed that there won’t be any scheduled power-cuts in the State this summer.
The Minister said as an additional 1,320 Mega Watt (MW) electricity facility was inaugurated at Ib Thermal Power Station at Banharpali in Jharsuguda district, there won’t be any scheduled power-cuts.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today inaugurated the 2 x 660 (mega watt) MW Unit-3 and 4 of Ib Thermal Power Station developed by OPGC at Banharpali in Jharsuguda on Friday. The newly inaugurated units have added an extra 1,320 MW electricity for the State.
The opening of 2 x 660 MW will ensure continuous power supply. We hope there won’t be scheduled power-cuts this year, said Singh.
During the peak hours, the average requirement is about 4,395 MW. At present, the State is producing 3957 MW.
