No morning walk, cycling during lockdown: Commissionerate Police

Bhubaneswar, May 13: Commissionerate Police today imposed a complete ban on activities like morning walk, evening walk and cycling in the Twin Cities of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar during the lockdown period. Lockdaown has been imposed in the State till May 19. Addressing the media, Police Commissioner Saumendra Priyadarshi said that such activities have been prohibited to restrict crowd on roads during lockdown. “We urge the residents to abide by the Covid norms. We have also asked concerned police stations to intensify crackdown on violators,” he said. Earlier the Commissionerate Police has issued an advisory asking heads of private industries, organizations and financial establishments who have been permitted to function with restrictions during lockdown to issue authorisation to their employees to move their offices. The police swung into action after it noticed large number of movements in violation of Covid norms. The police have also requested the heads of such establishments to furnish the detailed list of employees permitted to concerned DCP offices for reference.
