Chandrabhaga, Feb 19: The Chandrabhaga Beach wore a deserted look this morning amid imposition of Section 144 of CrPC in a bid to avoid Covid infection. The prohibitory order has been effected from 11 am of February 18 till 1 pm of February 19. The Puri district administration had warned people against taking holy dip in Chandrabhaga. However, the deities took the customary dip as per the rituals. Thousands of devotees take a holy dip in the sea at Chandrabhaga and offered prayers to God Sun on the occasion of Magha Saptami every year. People from different parts of the country congregate at the beach from the previous night to take a dip in the early morning. It is believed that a dip here on this occasion cleanses sins and keeps skin diseases away.
