NGO moves Supreme Court to consider imposing President's rule in West Bengal

New Delhi, May 4: Indic Collective Trust, an NGO has moved Supreme Court seeking declaration under Article 356 to consider imposing President's rule in West Bengal. The petition has been filed after several incident of post poll violence were reported from Bengal. The results of the Bengal polls were announced on Sunday and the TMC emerged as the winner by bagging 213 seats. However, BJP which stood second with 77 seats alleged TMC of unleashing terror after the poll results were declared. The BJP even claimed that several of its supporters were killed by the goons of TMC. The petitioner has also sought directions to constitute a Special Investigation Team headed by a retired Supreme Court judge to look into possible involvement of politicians in the violence.
