Bhubaneswar: Incessant rains have created havoc in parts of Rayagada district with many villages being marooned and a river bridge being washed away completely in the district early this morning.
According to reports, the Kucheipur bridge, which was constructed just six months back, has been completely washed away. As a consequence, road communication from Tikiri to Kashipur has been disrupted. Vehicular movement has stopped.
Many villages in the low-lying areas have been inundated due to flash floods, caused by continuing rains.
Notably, train services have also been disrupted in the district as a 100-metre-long track was washed away in the rain water and a goods train derailed near Ambadala station.
