New Covid guidelines: Schools to remain closed, night curfew from 9 pm

Bhubaneswar, Jan 05: With the rising of Covid-19 cases in the state, the Odisha government on Wednesday issued several restrictions including the closure of schools and enforcement of night curfew from 9 pm in urban areas. Special Relief Commissioner (SRC) Pradeep Kumar Jena said schools will remain closed till 12th standard. However, online classes will continue. He, however, said Matric assessment exams will continue. -Night curfew timings in urban areas extended; to start from 9 PM instead of 10 PM till 5 pM -Only essential activities will be allowed during curfew -Matric assessment exams to continue, but there will be no classes -No offline classes till 12th standard in all schools & colleges -No fair, exhibition and cultural events to be allowed till further order - There will also be ban on picnic and annual functions at educational institutions -A maximum of 100 people will be allowed to participate in government official meeting or training programme. -Cinema halls will have to run with 50% capacity. -Jatra and open air theatres will operate with only 1000 spectators. -Roadside vendors, hotels and bars will be allowed to operate till 9 pm. -Guests at marriages reduced to 100
