Nayagarh minor rape and murder case: Supreme Court issues notice to CBI

New Delhi, Jan 13: The Supreme Court today notice to the Central Bureau of Investigation after hearing a petition filed by the mother of the five-year-old girl who was allegedly kidnapped, raped and killed in Nayagarh. The mother of the victim had moved to the Apex Court seeking a CBI inquiry into the incident On November 28, the state government constituted the Special Investigation Team (SIT) to be monitored by the High Court of Orissa to investigate into the rape and murder of the five-year-old girl namely Amrita Sneha Sahu (Pari), daughter of Ashok Sahu and Soudamini Sahu of Jadupur village in Nayagarh district. The SIT subsequently arrested the accused, a minor on December 20. Earlier the SIT on Wednesday has filed another petition seeking Layered Voice Analysis of the minor accused. The development emerged after the minor refused to undergo brain mapping test for which the Juvenile Justice Board quashed the SIT's plea for the test.
