Bhubaneswar: BJD president and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Saturday pulled up the BJP-led Central Government again “for halting distribution of assistances under the KALIA Yojana and thereby depriving farmers of getting support for undertaking farm activities.
Addressing an election rally at Tumudibandh in Kandhamal district, the BJD supremo made this allegation and assured that the two KALIA installments of Rs 10,000 will be credited to farmers’ account on the very first day of formation of the new BJD Goverment after elections. He said the KALIA yojana would not be stopped till he is alive.
On the occassion, Patnaik termed the Mission Shakti as his most favoured programme and said women are the key to real development. Empowerment of women acts as double-engine to drive growth forward, he said.
Stating that leaders from outside the State come to them (villagers) during elections only, he BJD chief asserted that he was with them and would continue to serve them till his last breath.
Patnaik urged upon voters to vote for Kandhamal Lok Sabha candidate Dr Achyuta Samant and Baliguda Assembly segment candidate Chandramani Kanhar.
