Naveen reviews credit linkage to farmers, SHGs & MSMEs

Bhubaneswar, Dec 22: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today reviewed credit linkage to farmers, Mission Shakti groups & MSMEs with collectors and bankers. Patnaik appreciated the banking community for doing great service even during the lockdown period risking their lives. “The banks should continue to provide loans though the rate of lending loans has increased in last couple of weeks. We can lend a helping hand to the farmers by granting them loans. The performance of banks in districts of Sonepur, Balangir and Sundargarh has been satisfactory in terms of granting loans to the farmers,” said Patnaik. The CM further said that grant of loan to the SHGs has been the top most priority of the State Government. “The banks will fulfil their target of grant of loan in the next three months of this fiscal and another review meeting will be held on February 26,” added the CM. Patnaik said that he will inform about the performance of the banks to the Union Finance Minister and best performing banks would be awarded.
