Bhubaneswar, Aug 12: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has been ranked the most popular Chief Minister at the State-level, according to the India Today Mood of the Nation (MOTN) poll. The poll, which was aired by India Today on Thursday evening, placed Naveen Patnaik at the top position as the most popular Chief Minister in home state with 78 percent respondents being satisfied with his performance. His Assam counterpart Himant Biswa Sarma stood at the second position with 63 percent and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin secured the third position with 61 percent. Raj Chengappa, Group Editorial Director, India Today Group said that it’s the good governance of Naveen Patnaik that makes him the most popular. “He does his work quietly and does not shout too much. There is no corruption charges, there is no taint against him personally in any of these years he has ruled. Look at the way he conducts business over there, there is a quite confidence. The people trust him,” he said. In the national perspective, Prime Minister Narendra Modi remains the country’s most popular leader with 53 per cent people preferring him to be their Prime Minister. Only 9 per cent favour Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and 7 per cent in favour of AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal.
