Naveen congratulates PV Sindhu for bronze medal in Tokyo Olympics

Bhubaneswar, Aug 1: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik congratulated India shuttler PV Sindhu for winning bronze medal in the Tokyo Olympics. She defeated China’s He Bingjiao by 21-13, 21-15 in the bronze medal match on Sunday. “ Well done! Congratulate  @Pvsindhu1 on her historic win to secure the Bronze medal in #Tokyo2020 #Badminton finals. Her triumph, the consecutive Olympic medals and grit is both exemplary and inspiring. Wish her my best,” tweeted the CM. Sindhu becomes the second Indian athlete in Tokyo Olympics 2020 after Mirabai Chanu to win a medal. Sindhu who had also won a silver medal in Rio Olympics in 2016 became the second athlete from India after wrestler Sushil Kumar to win two Olympic medals.
