'National Cinema Day': These cities excluded from special promotional pricing of Rs 75

Hyderabad, Sept 23: While India is celebrating it's first ever National Cinema Day today with movie tickets at just Rs 75, many of the cities in India are excluded from enjoying such promotional offers. Even if the people are also quite disappointed as they cannot avail the Rs 75 ticket-price offer provided on the day. A number of cities have been excluded from the special promotional pricing. The Multiplex Association of India (MAI) and the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) excluded Chandigarh, Chennai, Coimbatore, Guntur, Hyderabad, Kochi, Mallapur, Narsipattanam, Nizamabad, Trivandrum, Vellore, Vijayawada and Warangal. Many citizens took to social media to express their disappointment over the day not being celebrated in the above cities. The actual reason behind such restrictions has yet to be ascertained as it is the internal discussions and understandings among multiplex operators, with regards to plying special show prices in the above mentioned states and cities.
