Puri, Sept 5: The sacred precincts of Srimandir will witness special rituals on Saturday as part of the ongoing Sri Krishna Leela, with Nandotsav and Bijuli Kanya rituals scheduled to be observed at the Bada Deula.
In the morning, Rama and Krishna will be ceremonially taken to the swing placed in the Jagamohan. In the evening, Ramakrishna and Madanamohan will be brought to the ceremonial cot, where special worship rituals for the three deities will be performed. The deities will subsequently be placed over the Dambaru, followed by the observance of the Bijuli Kanya ritual.
As part of the ritual, Durga Devi will be brought from the Bhandar Ghar and given the Agyanmala from the Bada of Goddess Subhadra. The deity will then be ceremonially placed on a cot in front of the Jagamohan. Following the prescribed rituals, the Goddess will return to the Bhandar Ghar.
The Laxmi Temple Jagamohan will also witness special rituals on the occasion.
Krishna Janmashtami Rituals Held at Srimandir
The Sri Krishna Janmotsav rituals were observed at Srimandir on Friday night. As part of the traditional ceremony, Lord Jagannath was symbolically worshipped in the form of Devaki, who gave birth to Lord Krishna.
The deities were adorned with elaborate attire and golden ornaments during the night. This was followed by the Dho Pakhala ritual and ceremonial worship.
A silver lotus-petal-shaped mandala was prepared, with the names of Devaki, Vasudeva, Nanda, Yashoda, Lakshmi, Ugrasena, Balabhadra, Sage Gargya and Krishna inscribed on its petals.
Later, Madanamohan was brought from the southern chamber and ceremonially placed on the throne. Two servitors, dressed in traditional attire representing Devaki and Vasudeva, participated in the Krishna Janma ritual, which was performed on the Chakada as per tradition.
