Nandankanan officials ask RITES to examine toy train service

Bhubaneswar, Nov 19: Authorities of Nandankana Zoological Park has asked Rail India Technical and Economic Service (RITES) to call mechanical and electrical experts to examine the toy train service. The toy train service was introduced on October 8 this year for joy ride of 20 minutes on a 1.6 km stretch inside the zoo for the visitors. However, the service has been facing difficulties due to frequent breakdowns. Officials said that they have asked RITES to call experts to examine the engine at the earliest by next week. “The toy train performed six trips today with total 319 visitors. As many as six mechanical and electrical engineers from ITI Bhubaneswar also came to examine the train and they have suggested some minor rectification for the long run,” said an official.
