Nalco organises workshop on E-Shram portal for unorganized workers

Bhubaneswar, Nov 16: Nalco has organized an interacting workshop on E-Shram portal meant for the unorganized workers on Monday. To spread mass awareness on ‘E-Shram Card’ and National Database of the Unorganised Workers through E-Shram Portal, Nalco authorities trained a number of beneficiaries of different unorganized sectors. Acting on an initiative of Government of India for unorganized workers, the Human Resource Development department of Nalco conducted the live session at the HRD Centre of Excellence in Bhubaneswar. The session was addressed by DPS Negi, Chief Labour Commissioner (Central) along with Shakuntala Pattnaik, Deputy Chief Labour Commissioner (Central) in presence of Manasa Prasad Mishra, Director (Project &Technical) & Director (Finance) of NALCO. During the session the participants were informed regarding various benefits of registration in the E-Shram portal and the process of registration in the portal as well. At least 40 participants from various organisations like NALCO, IOCL, Power Grid, SBI, TFL, OIL, BPCL, OMC, NTPC, MCL, GAIL, HPCL, AAI, NABARD, HPCL AIIMS including officials of various Trade Unions attended the session. Negi sensitized the HR representatives and Unions to percolate down and sensitize others for spread of awareness to cover all such uncovered workers under the social security umbrella coverage and take assistance of the Deputy CLC(C) office regarding the E-Shram portal. The E-Shram portal was rolled out in the month of August-2021, by the Government of India in order to furnish a concrete database for the worker of the unorganized sectors.
