Nalco Nagar loot case: Prime accused arrested, jewellery recovered

Bhubaneswar, Mar 15: The prime accused involved in the Nalco Nagar staff colony loot case has been arrested with recovery of the stolen ornaments, Chandrasekharpur police said today. The accused has been identified as Swarup Das, a resident of the same colony. According to the officials, Ashutosh Thakur of the staff colony had lodged a complaint regarding loot of gold ornaments worth around Rs 5 lakh from his official quarter on Saturday. During investigation police suspected involvement of a resident of the colony in the loot. Police arrested Swarup on Monday after gathering evidence and recovered the stolen jewellery from his possession. Later, the accused was forwarded to court, said an official.
