Bhubaneswar, Oct 27: In a recent development of Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) espionage case, it was revealed that the Pakistan woman who seduced the DRDO employees in Odisha, also honey-trapped a Class-IV employee of the Military Engineering Services (MES) in Jodhpur.
The Rajasthan Crime Investigation Department (CID) has communicated the same to Odisha Crime Branch seeking assistance. Besides, the Rajasthan police had also arrested the MES employee.
“Rajasthan CID had registered a complaint on the incident on October 15 and communicated the same to Odisha Crime Branch seeking assistance, informed Odisha Crime Branch ADG Sanjeeb Panda.
He further informed that Indian currency worth Rs 24,000 was transferred from Lulu International Exchange in Dubai to the bank account of one of the arrested ITR employees.
“While a total of Rs 38,000 was sent from Lulu International Exchange, a money transferring agency in Dubai, to two bank accounts in India, Rs 24,000 was transferred to the bank account of one of the arrested ITR employees,” Panda added.
Earlier this month, the Crime Branch claimed to have detected the Pakistani links of the mysterious woman through Facebook accounts. The Facebook accounts were being operated from Pakistan through proxy IP address to keep the location secret.
Most of the time they were using proxy IP addresses of Pakistan. They have also used proxy IP addresses of India, US and Germany to hide secrets, said Crime Branch ADG.
Worth mentioning, Odisha Police arrested five contractual employees of Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), Chandipur in Balasore district on charges of leaking sensitive defence secrets to foreign agents. The accused persons had also been honey-trapped by the suspected female operative.
