Nuapada, Aug 10: The mutilated body of a 26-year-old youth was recovered from the railway tracks between Odisha’s Nuapada Railway Station and a nearby level crossing early this morning.
The deceased has been identified as Rajkumar Mahananda, a resident of Dhorlamunda village under Komna police limits.
According to sources, the body was found with the head and torso separated, suggesting a possible train-related incident. The station master immediately alerted the Government Railway Police (GRP).
Upon getting the information, GRP officials from Kantabanji arrived at the scene and seized the body. Subsequently, it was sent for post-mortem.
Though the exact reason behind the youth’s death is yet to be ascertained, it is being suspected that he might have died in a train accident.
Further investigation into the matter is underway, said the police.
