MSME Dept signs MoU with Mission-Shakti SHGs to groom women entrepreneurship

Bhubaneswar, Jan 21: Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Department has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Mission Shakti, Odisha to add a new dimension to women empowerment in rural Odisha. The Principal Secretary of MSME department Satyabrata Sahu and Commissioner-Cum- Director of Mission Shakti  Sujata Kartikeyan signed  the MoU on  January 20. According to the MoU both the institutions have been affiliated to each other to create abundant employment opportunity for the women resources. As per the MoU, MSME department will provide technical and financial assistance to 70 lakh women empanelled in 6 lakh Self Help Groups (SHGs). Regular training will potentially enable women community to be successful entrepreneurs. This effort of MSME will boost the capacity of rural women and enrich state economy, added MSME and Mission Shakti officials.
