Motto-Freedom from Waste & Freedom for Nature: Mass cleanliness drive and Mini Marathon held at Kishorenagar

Kishorenagar, August 20: Working out on the motto “Freedom from Waste & Freedom for Nature” a Mini Marathon was organized under the Green Initiative Project by NIWCYD, in collaboration with DMF and Kishorenagar Block Administration in the Angul district on Friday.
The event was graced by the presence of Subrat Kumar Behera, BDO, Kishorenagar; Bikram Keshari Nayak, Tahasildar, Kishorenagar; Laba Kumar Pradhan, Vice Chairman, Kishorenagar Block; Bibhuti Pradhan, IIC, Kishorenagar Police; and Akshya Ku. Dash,Principal, Kishorenagar Degree College.
At least 350 participants, including block officials, school students & community members led by social activists joined the marathon, raising slogans and spreading messages of cleanliness and environmental protection along the Kishorenagar market route.
After the marathon, a massive cleanliness drive was carried out at Bada Padia, where the entire area was meticulously cleaned. Meanwhile, through a Swachhata awareness vehicle playing songs, the message of cleanliness was spread across Kishorenagar.
The entire program was coordinated by the National Institute of Women, Child, and Youth Development (NIWCYD), DMF, and Kishorenagar Block. From the NIWCYD team, Subhadra Panigrahi, Amiya Kant Joshi, Debasish Das, and Debjyoti Pal took the lead in ensuring the success of the ‘clean & green environment-based’ event.
